Cognitive Hypnotherapist & Master NLP Practitioner
I am a fully-qualified cognitive hypnotherapist and Master NLP practitioner. I was trained at Regents College, London by the leader in this field and pioneer of cognitive hypnotherapy, Trevor Silvester, with the Quest Institute.
How can I help you?
As a cognitive hypnotherapist, I can help you make the changes you want in your life.
All of us get locked into beliefs, habits and patterns of behaviour which we come to realise are reducing the quality of our lives and yet somehow feel unable to change. In cognitive hypnotherapy we think of the unconscious as an area of the mind, separate from the conscious mind, which is capable of making decisions and producing its own behaviour. It is where problem patterns are stored and maintained. All of our problems have arisen because our unconscious mind seeks to protect us by keeping us away from situations that have brought about an unpleasant experience in the past. When a similar situation occurs, we are ‘emotionally hijacked’ by our unconscious mind, resulting in behaviour we often can’t control or explain.
If you think your mind is holding you back you from being the best you can be, whether it’s letting go of something (such as a behaviour, feeling or belief), or if you are intersted in sports performance, business or life coaching, please get in touch. I can help you to get out of your own way. I can also help you to use your mind to heal your body. I can help you turn ambition to achievement.
I am passionate about helping people to reach their full potential and feel good. I would like to help you to find your solutions to achieve your goals.
Like many people, I had reached a stage in my life where I had been through a diverse range of experiences and events which had given me a slightly warped perception of the world and myself. I was at the point of seeking help through my doctor, which I felt would inevitably lead to me receiving a prescription of some kind. Deep down, I knew this would only serve to mask the issues and skirt round the real reasons that I was not at my best.
Instead of making an appointment with my doctor, I decided to visit a cognitive hypnotherapist. It was the best thing I ever did. I realised that I wanted to be a ‘glass half-full’ person, instead of the ‘half-empty’ version.
After only two sessions, cognitive hypnotherapy changed the way I approached, perceived and spoke about the world. It has, therefore, changed my world. I looked at things differently and this caused the world to treat me differently. At that time, I could not explain how it happened but all I needed to know was that it worked and I was better for it.
I wanted to know more about how cognitive hypnotherapy worked and that set me off on another momentous journey – one which led me to complete the course of study and gain my hypnotherapy practitioner diploma (HPD) and my master NLP practitioner certificate (MNLP).
I have worked for most of my life in publishing and am familiar with the stresses and demands of working to constant deadlines. I have previously worked with Puzzler Media (publishers of The Puzzler magazine) compiling crosswords and other puzzles for external publications.
In my role as a puzzle compiler I became interested in the puzzles and conundrums that we make in our own minds, sometimes needlessly, but also in the solutions that we all hold within ourselves.
In my spare time I am a keen horse-rider and am lucky enough to have my own horse. I regularly compete at dressage and have been fortunate enough to represent England and the Southern Region at two Home Internationals. I am no stranger to dealing with competition nerves and performance issues.
As a keen amateur dressage rider, I am passionate about the pursuit of excellence and am constantly searching for new ways and techniques to achieve peak performance.
I am glad you’ve found me. I look forward to helping you.
